World Book and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Each year, on 23rd April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the magical power of books – a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures.
We are incredibly proud to be part of the important work UNESCO does worldwide to promote the power of books and reading for all.
On this day the school library organised book quizzes /crossword puzzles for the students in their library periods. There were questions on both classic literature and modern literature (from Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Sherlock Holmes to Robinson Crusoe). The questions so asked were geared to assess the children’s knowledge of the books and to encourage them for further reading .
Such activities certainly make the children go ahead to explore the wonderful world of books.
