On the 2nd of November, the middle wing of G.D. Goenka, Vasant Kunj, had its young learners watching a movie, a much needed refresher. The film adaptation of R.J. Palacio’s novel, ‘Wonder’ was the surprise that everybody had been waiting for. Along with being an entertainer, it also throws light on painful truths about getting bullied and how it feels to live a life that is not so “normal” in the most general sense of the word.
It gave the students a different perspective to look at things for the first time from the side of the victim in such situations. A lesson well learnt on how important it is to accept all sorts of people and how it only takes one look to acknowledge and appreciate each one’s extraordinary potential. Children could relate to different parts of the movie and felt emotional in certain scenes. In one way or another, each one found catharsis while watching the film.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the movie time and the excitement was intact throughout the film.
