“All the world’s a stage, And all men and women merely players…..”

To commemorate twenty five years of the glorious journey of G. D. Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, English Department organised a festival “Shakespearean Rhapsody”, showcasing Shakespearean era on February 4, 2019. The mainstay of the festival was enacting of extracts from his famous plays, highlighting tragedies as well as comedies.

“If music be the food of love, play on….” The era was recreated through period costumes and multiple dance forms. The wealth of contribution to English language by Shakespeare through vocabulary and expressions was amply demonstrated by way of placards and other exhibits. Pictorial booths were erected with colourful displays touching various aspects of Shakespeare’s life and works. Fliers, bookmarks, book covers, paper bags were offered as takeaways. Interactive games and interesting quizzes were organised. Parents got an opportunity to satiate their taste buds through delectable delicacies of Shakespearean era. The festival was an initiative of eighth graders who studied “Tales from Shakespeare” over the year and wanted to showcase how Shakespeare is still relevant to students across the board.
