The concluding day of the 8th Gayatri Devi Goenka Memorial Cultural Festival, GOENKAN GRANDEUR, saw talented musicians and artists from various prestigious schools across Delhi & the NCR, as well as from neighbouring towns,

There were many amazing performances in the Western Music Competition which was held on this day. The competition had two categories – Solo and Band and the judges for the day were two eminent and renowned musicians – Mr.George Pulinkala and Mr.Andrew Hoffland. The exciting three day talent festival culminated with a short skit which not only gave everyone a hilarious glimpse of a train journey which is a common sight on Indian railways but also offered an insight into the kind of behaviour which is completely unacceptable, thus motivating one to behave in a civilized manner on public transport. The grand finale was a superb dance performance by the lissome dancers of G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj.

At a glittering Valedictory Ceremony the winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates.

THE PROUD RECIPIENTS OF THE ACCOLADES WERE:

Delhi Public School,R K Puram, bagged the First Position in the Western Music Competition in both the categories – solo and band. The second and third positions in the solo singing category went to the G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj  and Amity International School respectively. In the Band category, the results were reversed with Amity International School winning the second prize and G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, winning the third.

Best Vocalist – Vedant Shandilya, DPS, R K Puram

Best Drummer – Aryaman Kiri, DPS, R K Puram

Best Keyboard player – Kshitij Maini, G D Goenka, Vasant Kunj

Best Guitarist – Sankalp Biswal, Amity, Mayur Vihar

Best Base Player – Lakshaya Grover, DPS, R K Puram

G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, was the Proud Winner of the OVERALL TROPHY which was presented to them for participating in each and every event and achieving the maximum number of winning positions in the cultural festival.
