Goenkan students of class XII batch of 2020 participated in the solemn citation ceremony that was conducted in the school auditorium in G. D. Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, on January22, 2020. Graduation from school entails an emotional farewell.
Principal, Ms. Meenakshi Bhakuni motivated the children to listen to their heart and to follow their dreams. Her speech encouraged the quest for excellence and perfection and her witty, gentle and all encompassing tone soothed many stressed and frayed nerves. Vice Principal, Mr. Shah’s note of wisdom urged the students to rekindle hope and faith in their potential. In her advice to the students, Senior School Incharge, Ms. Menika Anand, exhorted the students to find happiness in everything they do. Principal, Ms. Meenakshi Bhakuni and Vice Principal, Mr. Rajender Shah lit the school lamp and invoked the blessings of the Almighty. The children lit candles from the lamp led by Head Boys, Rahul Ranveer Shah and Harman S Sachdeva and Head Girl, Sejal Goel. Tears welled up in many eyes during the distribution of the school mementos.
While Rahul, Harman and Sejal recalled the memorable moments of their batch, Vice Head Boy, Chirag Nagpal and Vice Head Girl, Priyanka Himatsingka, on behalf of the entire class XI, thanked the outgoing batch for the beautiful association. Friendship, nostalgia and the journey in school was aptly displayed in a short film made on the school campus showing the facets of Goenkan life. The film was put together by the students of class XI as a tribute to their seniors.
