G.D.Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj observed its 23rd Annual Athletic Meet from 15th -17th October, 2018. The students of classes III to XII look forward to this event with great anticipation every year and this year too they participated in the athletic meet with great zeal and fervor.
The Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav declared the meet open on the 15th of October, 2018 and exhorted the student’s to compete with zest and display the spirit of sportsmanship at all times. Our Vice Principal Madam & Sir encouraged and motivated the students to abide by the rules of fair play while competing the various events.
The Annual Athletic Meet incorporated diverse track and field events and the students participated in four categories- Mini, Sub Junior, Junior and Senior.
The races were keenly contested and the student’s put in their best in the 100 m, 200 m, 400 m and 800 m races. The hot favourite was the 1500 m race which was open to all the boys of the senior category.
The field events also saw enthusiastic participation as the students performed in events like high jump, long jump and shot put amidst loud cheering and encouragement from their peers as well as teachers.
The Annual Athletic Meet attained highest levels of professionalism and was a spectacle to observe with the credit of co-ordination effort going to the whole Physical Education department.
The Annual Athletic Meet was declared as grand success on the last and final day, the 17th of October 2018, by the Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav.
