The Senior School had hosted two events for Symphony 2017-18, a week set aside for showcasing Goenkans’ eloquence in English language.

Inter-House Oral Interpretation Competition for classes IX – XII took place on August 28, 2017. The aim of the competition was to give the children a taste of the variety of work by William Shakespeare. Each participant was to choose a short extract including dialogues of two or more characters, from any play by Shakespeare. The premium was placed on confidence, diction, vocal variety and performance. The voice modulation and range exhibited by the participants left everyone full of surprise and admiration. 

The second event organized by the Senior School was one of its kind, Inter-House Turn Coat Debate. The students were given the topics on the spot. The topics were based on social and moral issues. The orators were to deliver the extempore for one minute proposing the motion and then turn the coat to speak for one minute opposing the motion. They showcased their presence of mind and awareness of contemporary challenges through logical arguments and strong conviction.
