Special Assembly
Deepawali was celebrated with traditional fervour, gaiety and enthusiasm on 11 November 2020 by the students of class 10 C.
The programme, which began with an invocation of Goddess Lakshmi , saw the students giving a beautiful instrumental rendition of the Ram bhajan, ‘ Shri Ram Chandra Kripalu Bhajman’. The students explained the significance of the five – day festival , beginning with ‘DhanTeras’ and Choti Diwali , Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya from exile which is celebrated as Deepawali, continuing with Vishwakarma Puja and culminating with ‘Bhai Dooj’ that celebrates the bond of love between a brother and a sister.
The assembly concluded with a devotional song ” Aao Mil kar Deep Jalaye” sung by the students of G D Goenka with a beautiful message of celebrating Deepawali without crackers and in the true spirit of lighting someone else’s life by doing noble deeds.
