We decided to have some fun activity with class 8 by extending our knowledge from 2D to 3D shapes and being creative in conjunction with studying geometry and verifying Euler’ s formula.
The children used marshmallows/Dough/ clay and toothpicks to
build different types of polyhedra( cube, cuboid, pyramid, prism). The toothpicks depicted the sides and marshmallows were the vertices of these shapes. Through this exercise, students determined the mathematical relationship between the 3 variables and arrived at Euler’s formula :
