An inspiring personality, the Director of Select City Walk, President of Entrepreneurs Organisation and the owner of Sattvik restaurant, Mr. Nimish Arora addressed our young entrepreneurs from class 11 and 12 who were accompanied by Mrs. Ashima Arora and Mrs. Kanika Gupta. This interactive session and domain tour was an impactful eye opener for the Goenkan learners.
‘It’s the failure that makes you learn’ is the Life lesson obtained from Mr. Nimish with over 15 years of his phenomenal work experience which he shared with the students. According to him a great business model is that which provides an idea that caters to the desired need of the society and customers. He mentioned an example of Sanjeev Bhikchandani, a great entrepreneur who once told him that ‘Great businesses are built on deep customer insights’. Adapting to a dynamic environment is most important for any business to be successful in a long run. Mr. Nimish wisely indicated that as an entrepreneur one needs to take decisions that are enterprising and timely.
Procrastination must be avoided, motivate yourself by keeping in mind to – JUST DO IT, TAY AT IT, BE CONSISTENT and KEEP IMPROVING! Perfection is a myth, believe in yourself and more importantly INVEST IN YOURSELF!
The students were shown the back house of the SELECT CITY WALK from where all the power, air conditioning , security and fire extinguishing, etc. functions are managed. This was very insightful since we take for granted all the facilities and safety protocols that we experience in a mall. For reading and gaining more knowledge, books like Psychology of Money and Atomic Habits were suggested. Lastly he encouraged the young minds by telling them to be trustworthy as it takes years to build trust but barely a moment to spoil it. Building network through reliable people is a key to grow and learn something new everyday. He concluded by saying that their aim is “at least one shopping bag in an individual’s hand when they leave the mall” which has definitely been achieved through years of tremendous hard work. Overall it was an exhilarating and overwhelming experience.
