Apropos : Buzzing Biz fest inter house competition was organized by the Commerce Department  on 16^th and 17^th October 2017.’’Shark tank” Sales Pitch Competition and Add Act competition was held on Day 1 and Day 2 respectively.

1.Shark Tank

We live in a competitive business world where new startups are challenging the older setups and the constant innovation is the tool for successful business ventures.  The new ventures require funds but raising capital isn’t easy.  The Angel investors and the venture capitalists provide finance only to exceptionally profitable projects.

The students prepared presentations with the following content-

1.   Understanding and analyzing the product they were pitching

2.   Having an appealing power-point presentation

3.   Doing a complete SWOT analysis

4.   A risk assessment

5.   Budget break down (allocation of required funds).

6.   Each judge/shark asked one question each, answers were judged upon.

7.   It was also beneficial to mention the impact the product would have on society.

We had three Judges(two ex Goenkans) who have a proven record in the industries.

1.Judge 1- Prateek Sachdeva An ex- Goenkan, After completing his education from Parsons, he joined Versace in 2007. After multiple promotions, he developed keen interest in technology. His passion for technology inspired him to co-found Mobikasa in 2010. His hard work has paid off and Mobikasa is recognized as one of the top development companies with numerous happy clients.

2.Judge 2- Prateek Arora is a software engineer , technology analyst, was working as a Software development engineer at Microsoft in USA.He moved to India and has his interest from technology to snow boarding.

3.Judge 3- Varun Kumar also an ex Goenkan Founder: Pashmina.com

The students interacted with the Judges and were happy to know how in the real world their idea will be taken.

2. Add Act

 The Ad-Act is intended to draw out the creative side participants by offering them a competitive platform that amalgamates acting and business acumen.

To prepare future innovator and entrepreneur in them, we hosted an Ad-Act in the Ad-mad world to market their Product. The medium of presentation was English and Social message and a relevant Jingle was also incorporated in the add Act.

There were two rounds. First round was on a product given to the students to promote. The second round was on Tourism in Rural and Backward areas.

 The Judges Ms Prabjot Butalia,Ms Anisha Talwar and Ms Rohina Shah were all praise about the event and applauded the use of good English in the advertisement. They also gave tips about how they could improve the Advertisement.

The tourism to rural and backward area the students researched on the area and how they had a good experience being close to nature and appreciating the virgin beauty of the backward area and the struggle for the basic in rural area. Some child also mentioned because of no net connectivity they could enjoy the place better.
