The students of G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, truly upped the ante, as they secured the Second Position in the prestigious “Silver Fiesta”, an annual film critiquing event, hosted by G. D. Goenka World School, Sohna Road on 14 August 2021. It’s a matter of great pride that in a competition which had 17 illustrious schools of India competing, including Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon and Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun , our school stood second, missing out the coveted top position by only two points.

Our exuberant team of Riya Chaudhri, 11 A, Naman Mehra, 11 D and Arshhiya Arora , 11 A, was brimming with confidence and were winners from the word go as they mesmerized the judges with their in-depth knowledge of the concepts of moviemaking . The judges for the event were two eminent personalities from the world of movies : Kabir Sadanand, an eminent actor and director and Barnali Ray Shukla, a popular filmmaker, poet and writer. Both the judges were impressed with the students ’ remarkable knowledge of the craft of film- making as also their preparedness for the event.

G D Goenka, Vasant Kunj, bagged the first position in the competition last year and this year’s win is another glorious feather in its cap. Kudos to the entire team for a sterling performance!
