G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi organised a three-day education cum adventure tour to picturesque Dehradun and Queen of Hills, Mussoorie for the students of classes XI and XII from September 28 till September 30, 2019.
After reaching Dehradun, the group had a sumptuous lunch at Ramada Hotel and made a visit to Forest Research Institute, a premier institute in the field of forestry research in India. The children were awestruck by the sprawling lawns and the imposing architecture of the main building and took many pictures to capture the unforgettable experience. The museums familiarised them with the diversity of flora in the country. The stay at Jaypee Residency Manor in Mussoorie offered spectacular views of Doon Valley. Exploring nature at a camp was the highlight of the next day. Thrilling and adventurous activities like trekking, negotiating Burma Bridge and Cargo net, zipping down the zipline, climbing the sky ladder, balancing on the sky walk kept the adrenaline flowing. A visit to Indian Military Academy, IMA, on the final day ignited the nationalistic fervour in the children. The rigorous training of gentlemen cadets was showcased in a movie. A walk around the campus and visits to the mess and Vikram Batra Hall gave an insight into the tough military regimen of the academy.
The tour terminated with a memorable and fun-filled journey back to Delhi by Shatabdi Express.
